Myanmar, Shan State, Hinkagung Village: every 20 years the tribal people of the surrounding villages come together in this remote place in the middle of the mountains to celebrate a huge Buddhist Novice Festival (Shenlaun Pwe). Boys of the age 6-10 get dressed like little princes and carried around in a huge procession before their hair is cut and they get dressed in the red monk dress. Now they join the monastery for a week or so to learn about Buddhism and devoted monks life. Spectators are enjoying the day.
